Question: What is most important to consider when teaching foreign language?
The teacher and student must connect with each other. This is key for mutual understanding to take place.
The teacher must know and understand the student’s motivation for studying the foreign language.
The student must think about why he’s studying the foreign language and where he wants to go with it. If he never thinks about the future, he’s unlikely to continue much serious study.
The teacher must take on the role of a mentor, counselor, and/or helper. This decreases classroom stress levels, which decreases the pressure on students, in turn making them more willing to make the necessary mistakes that facilitate the learning process.
